Dubai is one of the nicest cities in the modern world and has everything any tourist could ever want. It is truly a paradise of the rich and famous and if you have enough money to splurge on a five star vacation, Dubai is the place to start and more than likely end. Dubai is located within the United Arab Emirates, abbreviated U.A.E. For short, and is toward the northern tip of the country. The U.A.E. Is located just south or Iran and next to Saudi Arabia and is generally hot all year round. Because it is a desert, almost everything within the city must be flown in as nothing can be grown there. Just like Los Angeles where the palm trees can’t be maintained by rainwater alone, many of the plants within Dubai are given the same treatment.
Although Dubai is very near the Persian Gulf, it doesn’t get much rain fall each year. Tourists are generally left drenched in sweat as soon as they step outside of the hotel. The Persian Gulf beaches aren’t that far of a drive, but if you’re interested in a true beach holiday, Dubai may not be the place to go. Some tourists from the “Western World” often shy away from Dubai because of its proximity to Iran and Saudi Arabia. There is often fear of terrorism at Western tourist hot spots and hotels that aren’t protected by security guards. While the risk is technically there, Dubai is by far one of the safest tourist cities in the world.

Dubai is a fantastic location where you will find some unusual and amazing structures. There is literally no limit to what you can find in Dubai. It is one of the richest nations in the United Arab Emirates. Dubai World is a very large investment company which has had its hand in many of the large and extensive construction projects that have been able to grace Dubai. The company is responsible for a large amount of these projects which include the following amazing masterpieces:
Island Palm – The Island Palm is a very nice and large residential manmade structure which will house many condominiums, hotels and private residential areas. It is almost complete and can be seen from space as an amazing manmade island. The possibilities of getting to live there depend mostly on your social status and whether or not you are willing to cope with the yet unknown consequences of building a structure like this on the open water.
Island Earth – Very similar to the Island Palm, the Island Earth is a recreation and representation of the continents of the earth through the use of manmade islands. The islands will be inhabited as they are completed and those who live on each island will have amazing properties on these islands. Expansion may or may not be possible on the Island Earth.
The Burj Tower – One of the most amazing and complete structures that have been designed by Dubai World is the Burj Tower. It is the world record holder for the tallest building in the world and exceeds the previous building by nearly twice the height. The Burj Tower is a beacon of the progress that Dubai has surpassed and a torch to show all what is still to come from such an amazing location.

One of the most inspiring portions of human ingenuity in the world is the Burj Khalifa located at Dubai. Dubai has a history of having many architectural masterpieces and the Burj is one of them. The Burj is actually the tallest building in the world at 828 meters (2,717 feet) tall. The building’s construction was started in late September of 2004. The building was completed at the beginning of October in 2009 and officially opened in the beginning of January 2010. The architectural and engineering masterpiece is the brainchild of Skidmore, Merril and Owings of Chicago.
This building was constructed by Samsung Engineering and Construction from South Korea. It is primarily designed as a tourist destination for use in a multiuse district with hotels, services and other tourism type services. The location has an amazing park called the Khalifa park as well as the Dubai Fountain, which is designed by the same Californian team which created the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas, Nevada. The building was a large investment to put Dubai back on the map with something that was difficult to obtain, the record for the largest standing structure in the world. It is more than twice as large as the second largest building in Dubai and can be seen from the skyline with ease.
The location is indeed now one of the most beautiful places to see if you are planning to visit the Middle East. It is in line with a number of excellent masterpieces of architecture including manmade islands, and even more amazing architectural wonders which are planned for the future. Dubai is known as a true power of the world, owned primarily by the royal family. The buildings are built primarily by Asian immigrant workers so expect great things from the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

Dubai is one of the countries that make up the United Arab Emirates in the Persian Gulf. There are seven countries in total and Dubai lies on the northeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. In relation to the rest of the Persian Gulf however, Dubai lies in the southwestern corner. Throughout Dubai runs the Dubai Creek. This body of water separates the city into two different areas. The area to the north is known as the Deira District, while the portion of the city to the south is known as Bur Dubai. In total, Dubai occupies 4,114 square kilometers in total area and lies 16 meters above sea level.
Located right along the Strait of Hormuz, Dubai is a vital transportation port for much of the world’s crude oil. It’s because of this that Dubai is one of the richest countries in the world. Also, Dubai has a very unique vantage point when thinking about things such as travel and tourism. Because Dubai is located in such a central position, it is the gateway for many travelers, whether they are traveling for business or pleasure, or coming to Dubai to visit or just passing through. Africa is only a 3.5 hour flight from Dubai, while Europe and India are also only short distances away.
Being the central point for so much activity, Dubai has capitalized on their natural resources and has made themselves known as one of the biggest and best cities in just about any industry you can imagine. One visit to Dubai will give you insight into just a few of its most well-known attractions, the rotating skyscraper and the trio of palm-shaped islands being just two of these.

Over the last three to four years, there has been a lot of media attention about Dubai. However, even though the media has spent a lot of time talking about the rise of luxury throughout Dubai (and more recently, all of the problems they have been encountering as a result of the slumping economy), many people still don’t know much more about Dubai than it is an extremely luxurious place created by people with immense amounts of wealth. If you are one of the people who don’t know much about Dubai, you shouldn’t be embarrassed by this fact. The reason that I say you shouldn’t be embarrassed is because the media hasn’t spent much time covering the details of Dubai, so you can’t be expected to be an expert on the topic when you haven’t heard much about it.
In case you are curious and would like more information about Dubai, it is the most populous city (with a population of slightly over 2.2 million people) in the United Arab Emirates (which is made up of seven emirates). Dubai is located along the southern coast of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsula.
If you are curious about the nationality of the people who live in Dubai, I can also share that information with you. Approximately forty-two percent of the people who call Dubai home are Indian, while another twenty-six percent are Arab. The next highest nationality percentage is Pakistani, with a respectable thirteen percent. Rounding out the list are ten percent Western, and finishing things off are seven percent Bangladeshi.
