One of the most inspiring portions of human ingenuity in the world is the Burj Khalifa located at Dubai. Dubai has a history of having many architectural masterpieces and the Burj is one of them. The Burj is actually the tallest building in the world at 828 meters (2,717 feet) tall. The building’s construction was started in late September of 2004. The building was completed at the beginning of October in 2009 and officially opened in the beginning of January 2010. The architectural and engineering masterpiece is the brainchild of Skidmore, Merril and Owings of Chicago.

This building was constructed by Samsung Engineering and Construction from South Korea. It is primarily designed as a tourist destination for use in a multiuse district with hotels, services and other tourism type services. The location has an amazing park called the Khalifa park as well as the Dubai Fountain, which is designed by the same Californian team which created the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas, Nevada. The building was a large investment to put Dubai back on the map with something that was difficult to obtain, the record for the largest standing structure in the world. It is more than twice as large as the second largest building in Dubai and can be seen from the skyline with ease.

The location is indeed now one of the most beautiful places to see if you are planning to visit the Middle East. It is in line with a number of excellent masterpieces of architecture including manmade islands, and even more amazing architectural wonders which are planned for the future. Dubai is known as a true power of the world, owned primarily by the royal family. The buildings are built primarily by Asian immigrant workers so expect great things from the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
